Down Home Dharma
Stumbling, Fumbling, and Bumbling Towards Enlightenment
Singer/Songwriter Steve Wyse (aka The Honky Tonk Buddhist), a heyoka, presents a concert titled DOWN HOME DHARMA – songs of consciousness and sometimes unconsciousness. Listen to Steve’s collection of songs in the Americana genre as he sings and tells the story of his spiritual journey spanning over 30 years. From a Midwest farm boy singing country music for anyone who would listen, to the new thought teachings of the Unity Church, to meditating and chanting in Zen Buddhist Temples, to singing Lakota Sioux prayer songs in the Inipi. Down Home Dharma covers it all. Songs like The Honky Tonk Buddhist Song, Divine Bean, or the Monkey Mind Blues are all sure to give you a giggle as Steve takes a fun, lighthearted approach in telling the tale of his spiritual journey as he stumbles, fumbles, and bumbles his way towards enlightenment.
Yoga Nidra & Sound Healing
Yoga nidra or yogic sleep is a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping, like the "going-to-sleep" stage.
Steve made a wooden flute tuned to each of the 7 major chakras. He then plays the flute for each chakra while a yoga instructor leads the nidra for an energetic healing experience.
Sound Healing
Chakra Balancing with the Wooden Flute
This is a hour long non-speaking meditative journey of healing and transformation. In his CD titled “Sound Healing” by Steve Wyse Sleeps by Deer, he made a wooden flute that has been specially tuned to resonate with each of the 7 major chakras. Playing these flutes live, Steve begins with the root chakra and then moves upwards through the body. He plays each flute for each chakra for about 7 minutes while also adding animal totem medicine and chants for a full-body, sound healing journey.
